The Media + the Public Interest Initiative at Rutgers University\u2019s School of Communication and Information is focused on engaged scholarship dedicated to how media systems can better serve the informational, political, and cultural needs and interests of all sectors of the population.<\/p>\n

The Initiative pursues these objectives via a range of activities, including research, commentary, and advocacy; engagement with alternative and community media makers, government agencies, and civil society organizations; and collaborations with the journalistic community.
